PTC 3 - the last day

The last day of PTC 3 event brought with it more surprises, some of them good, some of the bad....it depends on your point of view. It’s all about the angle, you know? :))

Anyway, I don’t want to prolong the suspense so, here it is: the final match was between the 19 year-old, Jack Lisowski and the 27 year-old Tom Ford. It ended 4-0 and the PTC 3 champion is....tam tam taaaaaam....Tom Ford!!! :)

But let’s take it one step at a time...

Mark Selby, the competition favorite won 4-3 over Judd Trump and 4-3 to Barry Hawkins, but "reversed the score" to 3-4 in Jack Lisowski`s favor. Also, the only player who hit the 147 break of this tournament, Barry Hawkins although beat Brazil, represented by Igor Figuieredo, lost to “The Jester from Leicester" (as I already told you) in the quarter finals.

Dominic Dale’s race was brutally stopped by Andy Hicks (4-2), Andrew Pagett`s performance was limited to the same 4-2 against Anthony Hamilton and Mark Davis, although won over Adrian Gunnell (4-3) and Anthony Hamilton (4-1), lost in the semi-finals (4-2) to Tom Ford.

So, the first semi-final was played by Mark Selby and Jack Lisowsky, and the second one by Tom Ford and Mark Davis.

The final, was a beautiful one, even if we didn’t see "The Jester from Leicester" in it, Leicester was present, for Tom is from this town. Maybe the score didn’t reflect the tension or the drama (although I’m sure they existed), but it’s amazing how these guys can play four matches in one day. It’s an outstanding performance and a true marathon. But that’s what Barry Hearn wants: more tournaments, more raking points, more prizes, more snooker, more international publicity for snooker. And he’s doing one hell of a job! ;)

Here, you can see the latest scores.

The PTC 4 event will take place between 14-16 August and will unite great names, like : Ronnie O`Sullivan, Stephen Hendry (it was about time! :D), Neil Robertson, Peter Ebdon, Jimmy White and many more.
