The talented Luca Brecel
110sport’s Luca Brecel has been voted Belgium’s ‘Most Promising Talent’ by the country's press.The 15-year-old scooped the award at a ceremony held in Ostend. Brecel has enjoyed a fantastic year in which he won both the European and Belgian Championship.
“It is a big surprise as snooker is not a big sport in Belgium,” said Luca’s father Carlo, who spoke on behalf of his son after the ceremony.
"This is a unique achievement for our sport and we are very moved.”
In winning the award Brecel follows talents such as Anderlecht striker Romelu Lukaku and tennis star Kim Clijsters who triumphed in 2010 and 1998 respectively.
