The penultimate day of the qualifying rounds brought with it the first six players that secured themselves a place in the UK Championship due to start this Saturday in the beautiful town of Telford from the UK. Little drama, but a lot of tension were involved as the last chance to reach the second biggest snooker tournament, needed to be exploited to the maximum :-))
So, let’s see who are the lucky players that we shall see live on our telly this weekend ;-)

First of all, we have the Welsh Matthew Stevens who, although drew with Robert Milkins 4-4 in the morning session, kicked ass in the evening one, sealing his victory with a 9-5 scoreline.
Next in line, is the PTC 3 event champion, Tom Ford who defeated Gerard Greene by performing a 6-2 lead in the first session and continuing with a 9-2 scoreline in the second one, Martin "Gouldy" Gould being the one who followed up, after eliminating a very powerful opponent, the Thai James Wattana in a very tight battle ended on a 9-8 result.

Stephen Lee was the one who also had a very dangerous opponent to beat - David Gilbert, the fight starting with Lee taking the lead 5-3 in the first part of the day and ending on at 9-4 in the second part, Mark Joyce putting quite a performance, after he survived the battle with Campbell a couple of days ago, yesterday almost crashing "The Nugget" Steve Davis 6-2 and 9-2, and as for the Chinese Xiao Guodoung, his run ended here for he lost 7-9 to the EPTC 1 event champion, Judd Trump.

Below you can find the partial results for the four matches that took place yesterday:
Barry Hawkins (6-2) 9-3 Fergal O’Brien
Stuart Bingham (5-3) 9-4 Peter Lines
