Matthew Stevens takes the lead
After Winners` Group’s first day of matches stage, Matthew Stevens takes the lead, the Welshman winning three out of four matches. He seems to be in a very good form after wining Group’s 7 final, just a couple of days ago.

Here we are! Winners` Group stage and the tension it’s raising. It’s only normal, since at the end of today we shall be in possession of the first name to play in this year’s Premier League of snooker. A very good ranking position will guarantee the players a secure place in this competition, but it’s better to take advantage of every chance you’ve got, so to have booked a place from now, it’s a very wise thing to do.

After winning that tremendous final against Liang Wenbo, Matthew Stevens crashed Mark Allen 3-0, ended on a very close encounter the match played with Shaun Murphy 3-2 and closed the day with another whitewash, this time against Ryan Day 3-0. The Welshman gets three points and he’s the current leader of the group
On second place, with two points each, we have Ali Carter, Shaun Murphy, Mark Allen and Mark Selby. Carter and Murphy had four matches to play, through two of them the boys of snooker getting victoriously, while Allen and Selby had only three matches to play they winning two "meetings” of snooker.
Still, considering the number of frames that each of these players won, on first place we have Shaun Murphy (with 10 frames), followed by Ali Carter (with nine), Mark Selby (with seven) and Mark Allen (with six).

With only one point, Mark Williams must try and do his best today if he wants to have a chance to grab that place in the Premier League, while Ryan Day has none, this meaning he doesn’t look as a favorite now; but there’s still hope ;-)

We had the pleasure to witness some really nice centuries, Ali Carter hitting a 100 and a 102, Ryan Day a 114, Mark Allen a118, and Mark Williams a wonderful 143.

The last day schedule looks something like this:
