Judd Trump keeps up his good form
The youngster Judd Trump is playing like he has done it from the beginning of this tournament, meaning very, very good, after the first session leading Mark Selby by five frames to three. A very steady game and a winner attitude that’s never leaving his face, those are Judd’s weapons.

Trump has had a very good start in the first session of the China Open final, putting his opponent, Mark Selby in tricky situations more than once.
The youngster took the first frame with a wonderful 104 break, only to see Mark leveling the match at 1-1 after hitting a break of 88. However the boys were entering the mid-session interval with Judd leading Mark 3-1, Bristol’s boy winning a very scrappy third frame and cashing another century break, a 104 (his 100th of his career as a professional).

Due to a missed pink (what do you know? Judd’s human after all :-)) ), Selby succeeded in coming really close to draw, as he hit a marvelous 90 break to go at just one point behind his opponent. Unfortunately for him that dream was still far, far away, because Trump stormed in as to win the next two frames by taking plenty advantage of Selby’s poor safety shots and hitting in runs of 55 and 53 as to go 5-2 up.

Wainting for a sign from above...
One more frame was going to be played and "The Jester from Leicester’s" game wasn’t glowing yet. Still, he managed to pull one back, as Judd was missing frame ball and hit a 62 in order to set the provisional scoreline at 5-3.

Next session will start at 12:30 (UK time) and it’s going to be interesting to see if Selby can make a comeback in this match and how’s Judd going to cope with that.
Best of luck to both lads and see you after the grand final! :-)
