Cue-Man Fu in action at the Crucible
Early in the morning, but not to early for snooker players to start their battles and snooker fans to practically invade the Crucible for a sneak at what’s going on with their favorite lads.
As I write this article, one match ended its first session, Marco Fu leading Martin Gould 6-3, while the second one is currently stuck at three a piece with Ricky Walden and Rory McLeod as the main characters.

Two nice and steady breaks of 70 and 97 were bringing the Hong Kong cue man the first two frames of the match he’s playing against Martin Gould, only to see the last named one pull one back with a beautiful 80. However the mid-session interval was seeing the scoreline go 3-1 in favor of Fu as he consolidated his position.

Quarter of an hour later and Fu was extending his lead as to go 4-1 up, but "Gouldie" was determined to fight back so he won the following two frames as to go just one point behind his opponent. But this wasn’t a situation Fu was comfortable with, so he replayed with a cracking 115 and a 56 to end the first session leading Martin 6-3.

More to come...
