The unstoppable Wattana
Yesterday the madness continued as more Top 16 residents (and beyond) were kicked out of the PTC Event One. Kicked out is practically a bit too strong, they just lost their matches ... well, to be more precise, they lost their FIRST match. This happened for Mark Williams, who lost 4-3 to Li Yan, as well as for Stephen Hendry who was defeated by Kyren Wilson. The legendary "Nugget", Steve Davis saw himself being hammered 4-1 by James Wattana, Ryan Day was eliminated by Simon Bedford, 4-3 and as for the "Magician" Murphy, he lost 4-3 to Nick Jennings.

Although they rocked around the snooker table during the qualifiers, Ben Harrison and Allan Taylor were also stopped from advancing into the competition, Ben being totally whitewashed by Mark Joyce, while Allen lost the decider against Joe Swail.

However, moving on to the group that made it all the way to the Last 16 round, I must firstly mention James Wattana, the Thai who started his day by winning 4-1 over Steve Davis, continued with a tight 4-3 over Liu Yan and hammered Mike Dunn at the end of the day, but also Joe Perry, who really seems to be kicking, defeating Sanderson Lam 4-0, Mark Joyce 4-2 and Tom Ford 4-3.

The Irish Fergal O'Brien had an amazing run after passing with a 4-2 lead over Darren Bond and Simon Bedford and with a 4-1 scoreline over Joe Swail, Jamie Jones proved he means serious business after winning 4-0 over Shane Castle and 4-2 over his last two opponents, Cao Yupeng and Peter Lines, while Liam Highfield followed the pattern of 4-2 against Chen Zhe and Andrew Paggett, only to end his runs with a 4-0 scoreline in the match he played with Scott MacKenzie.

Graeme Dott is in great form
The Chinese Xiao Guodong seems to be in great form, after he crashed James Murdoch 4-0, hammered Adam Wicheard 4-1 and ended on a very tight 4-3 with Kurt Maflin. It must be said that Kurt had a pretty amazing run, as he won both of his matches and succeeded in coming back from a 2-0 lead in his last snooker encounter with Xiao; unfortunately he lost that last battle, but he is definitely to be considered for the next PTC event.

I saved the best for last, because it was really nice to see these two players making their way through the crowded Sheffield’s arena directly into the Last 16. Grame Dott, the Scotsman that didn’t have a pretty good last season, succeeded to obtain a clear victory of 4-0 over Sam Baird, continued with a 4-2 scoreline over Dominic Dale and ended his run with a marvelous and very impressive 4-0 over the one and only Stephen Lee.
The same can be said about our favorite "singer", Robbie Williams. He put an end to Peter Ebdon`s run with a 4-2 result, defeated a very well prepared Nick Jennings by the same scoreline, only to end in full glory the night and beat Ali Carter using the same strategy result. Brilliant performance!
