Chuang is one step away from the Crucible
Yesterday's qualifying matches brought more bad news for the "legends gang", Jimmy White being the next player after Steve Davis to miss playing at the Crucible this year after the Chinese player Liu Chuang defeated him by 10-8.

On the other hand though, the same day proved to be extremely prolific for the likes of Luca Brecel who advanced into the last round after beating Michael Holt 10-9, for Alfie Burden who obtained a brilliant 10-3 victory over Jack Lisowski, but also for Peter Lines who continued to rock around the snooker table, this time his victim being Rory McLeod whom he saw off by 10-5.

Although Jimmy White ended his first session being lead 5-4 by Liu Chuang, "The Whirlwind" managed not only to come back, but also to put his nose in front at 6-5 and keep it together in his quest for a place in the final round. Still, Chuang proved to be a bit too strong for our Jimmy, a few mistakes here and there costing the Englishman to re-live his Crucible dream, as Chuang ended the match at 10-8.

Bad day for the Whirlwind
We kind of got used to see Igor Figueiredo and Luca Brecel going hand in hand from the first round up until this one. But yesterday marked the "break-out" as while Figueiredo lost by 10-7 in front of Joe Jogia, the youngster Brecel managed to win a tough decider against the PTC 10 champion, Michael Holt and is not due to meet with Mark King for the final match.

The two Davids of the competition, Gilbert and Morris, continued their good run, the first winning 10-6 over Mike Dunn, while the second one was booking himself a place further in the competition after easing his way pass Scotland's Alan McManus with a 10-7 final result.

David Morris continues his good run
Still, Scotland can be pound of being represented by Jamie Burnett in the next round, the player using an impeccable scoreline of 10-7 on Adam Duffy, this letting him to face the "pink soldier" Joe Perry for the last stop before the Crucible.

Alfie Burden found no difficulty in earning himself a place in the fifth round after beating Jack Lisowski 10-3, the same happening for Peter Lines who eliminated Rory McLeod with a 10-5 scoreline.
