Graeme Dott wins over Ali Carter
The forth day of the Masters tournament ended with Graeme Dott grabbing the last quarter-finals spot after beating Ali Carter 6-3.

Although the first session of the match saw a pretty intense and tight battle of cues, the second one was marked by Dott launching himself towards victory.

Scotland's Graeme Dott met England's Ali Carter in the last match of Masters' first round, match that saw the 2006 world champion booking himself a place in the quarters.

The lads started their snooker encounter by taking turns on who was winning frames, breaks of 56 and 25 bringing Carter two, while runs of 40 and 61 were guaranteeing Dott an equal part in the making of a 2-2 scoreline.

After the break Carter used a 45 to put his nose in front once more, but Dott responded with a 71 to draw level at 3-3. This was the turning point of the match, for from this moment on the lads weren't one frame apart.

Dott managed to win the 7th frame with a top break of just 29, this putting him in the leading position for the very first time since the beginning of the match, a 56 and a 32 taking care of the following two frames. It was 6-3 in Dott's favour and he'd won.

Graeme is now meeting a fellow-country player, John Higgins in the quarter-finals.
