Snooker in June 2012
Just a few hours separate us from the start of the new season, as we get back on the road side by side with our beloved snooker. Feels like only yesterday Ronnie O'Sullivan was lifting his forth world title at the Crucible and everyone was over the moon to see the Rocket fly so beautifully towards victory.Still, now is time to leave the festivities behind us, because we have a brand new season in front of us. And if the last one was the busiest in the snooker history, this one is ready to beat that record.
We are going to start by going back to the city that's madly in love with snooker, Sheffield, and get some qualifying rounds kicking, as the Wuxi Classic tournament has become a ranking one and the lads need to qualify in order to get their ticket to China.
But as the qualifiers are underway at Sheffield, back in Gloucester, at the lovely South West Snooker Academy, the third edition of the Pink Ribbon tournament will kick off between 7 and 10 of June.
From 12 to 15 we shall be returning to Sheffield and see another series of qualifiers, this time for the second edition of the Australian Open, while during 18-22 of June the first ranking event of this season will officially break the ice.
Is no secret that Barry Hearn has moved some of the PTC events in China, so that's where we are heading this mouth, with the Asian PTC 1 taking place at Zhanhjiagang (hope I wrote that correct).
And since we like China so much, we are going to stay a bit longer, for between 25 of June and 1st of July the Wuxi Classic tournament will take place.
So ... are you ready to see the boys back on the green baize?
