WPBSA statement regarding John Sutton
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) has just released a statement regarding amateur player John Sutton, who was charged with breaches of the WPBSA Members Betting Rules.On 9th of February 2015 the WPBSA's Chairman Mr Jason Ferguson suspended player John Sutton.
The amateur player was suspected of certain betting patterns regarding his match against Scotland's Jamie Burnett from the qualifying rounds of the 2014 International Championship that took place on September 24th.
Since February a "thoroughly investigation into match betting patters" has been carried out, the result being that Sutton is guilty of "be in breaks of rule 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 of the WBPSA's Members Rule".
It should also be mentioned that "there will be a further hearing to decide on sanction that will take place on a later date".
