Ding Junhui has managed to record a tremendous 13-10 victory over his idol, Ronnie O'Sullivan in order to book his place in the semi-finals of the 2017 Betfred World Snooker Championship.

Although the players ended their first quarter-finals session on a draw, 4-4, the second one saw the "Chinese Sensation" taking a comfortable overnight lead of 10-6.

When they returned into the arena, O'Sullivan took the first two frames with a top break of 97, enough to raise the bar and bring more balance into the match, but Ding used a 69 to to 11-8 up.

On went "The Rocket" in making a beautiful 146 break (thus overcoming Selby's 143 from early today), but as we all know not even a maximum break can guarantee you a victory.

Ding responded with a break of 87 to go one away from victory and even if O'Sullivan won a real thriller on the black to pull one back, it was Ding who closed up with a 117 clearance for a place in the semi-finals where he'll meet the reigning world champion, Mark Selby.

The cue action continues with Barry Hawkins and Stephen Maguire, because we still have one more spot left. Sooo, who's going to be, ey?
